It is perhaps an encounter between the artificial reality of the city and the natural reality of the landscape that we witness in the image of the Saltimbanco, who with one leg sinks into the ground, while with the other leg he rises in a dance step, rhythmic to the drum roll in his hands. The flailing universe that, as in the comings and goings of a mad wheel, swirls around him, pivots around him.

To interpret the figure one can resort to Aldo Palazzeschi’s lines in Incendiario: “Who am I? Am I a poet? Who am I? The acrobat of my soul.”
