II world of family affections, painting in delicate tones à la lngrés dominates the early 1930s and is notable in Conti for its diversity from the shouted rhetoric of the twentieth century, to which he does not adhere. In the position of the hand shielding his eyes is, then, to be discerned a criticism of the fascist regime, which Conti did not cease to play even when he held important positions in it.
