THE AMIR PROJECT
Migrants become heritage ambassadors

Hoping to do a good thing, I am pleased to point out the possibility of participating with your classes in free visits to participating museums
AMIR | welcome, museums, inclusion, relationship
curated by the Municipality of Fiesole, the Municipality of Florence - MUS.E, the Innocenti Institute, the Primo Conti Foundation, and the Utopia Station
The project carried out thanks to the contribution of the Tuscany Region and the CR Florence Foundation trained 32 migrants including Afghans, Tunisians, Egyptians, Malians, Gambians, Moroccans, Cameroonians, Colombians, Nigerians, Venezuelans, Senegalese, Ivorians, Peruvians, Ghanaians, Romanians, Guineans, Pakistanis, and Italians as museum mediators.
Starting next January, the initiative offers schools of all levels the opportunity to learn about a museum through the eyes and experiences of people who have very different histories and experiences, a cultural experiment that gives us young and old, Italian, Western, Eurocentric people the vertigo of disorientation and the vitality of discovery: because, as a young African visiting the Roman theater in Fiesole reminds us, “it is incredible that such beautiful places exist and it is incredible that they have something to say to each of us.”
I wish you happy holidays and a peaceful 2019,
Chiara Damiani
