Press release from the City of Fiesole
The Civic Archaeological Museum of Fiesole and the Primo Conti Museum have obtained from the Region of Tuscany the renewal of the prestigious recognition of Museum of Regional Significance and thus become, as of this year, a full member of the National Museum System.
“I am very proud,” states the Mayor Anna Ravoni, of the important milestone achieved by the Civic Archaeological Museum, the result of serious work in recent years, which has invested the various aspects of the Museum, such as accessibility, public enjoyment, educational proposals, activities aimed at encouraging citizen participation, collection management, and scientific research. And the approval of the new Fiesole Museums Regulations signaled the start of a new phase.
Accreditation to the National Museum System will be a key stimulus to maintain the quality standards achieved and work in the near future to improve them.
But my satisfaction is even greater because on the territory of Fiesole, the Primo Conti Museum, managed by the Primo Conti ETS Foundation, has also received the prestigious award. An important sign of the cultural vitality of our community. I thank all those who intelligently and passionately worked so that this very important result could be achieved.”
