E’ Marta Lamalfa, with her splendid debut novel “The Island Where Females Fly,” published by Neri Pozza, the winner of the XXXIII edition of the Fiesole Under 40 Fiction Prize. The award ceremony will be held on Saturday, Nov. 16, at a new location and time. The Municipality of Fiesole and the jury will in fact meet you for the first time at the Teatro di Fiesole, in largo Piero Farulli 1, at 4 p.m.

Chaired by Franco Cesati and composed of. Caterina Briganti, Silvia Gigli, Marcello Mancini, Gloria Manghetti, Fulvio Paloscia, Lorella Romagnoli and Francesco Tei, the jury chose Marta Lamalfa’s book from among the others that made up the triplet: “L’ultimo Mago” by Francesca Diotallevi, also published by Neri Pozza, and “Il nostro grande niente” by Emanuele Aldrovandi, published instead by Einaudi.

During the ceremony, as always, special prizes will also be awarded, which this year will go to Compagnia Lombardi-Tiezzi for the brilliant theatrical journey with which they have been able to revisit the classics by making them contemporary, to Angelo Foletto, for the book Ho piantato tanti alberi, published by Libreria Musicale Italiana, with which he makes a poetic and almost epic journey into the world of music, and finally to Cristiano Godano, writer and voice of Marlene Kuntz, one of the most important alternative rock groups on the Italian scene and interpreter of an entire generation.
