CALENDAR OF VISITS TO THE MUSEUMS IN OUR NETWORK:

5 OCTOBER AND 7 DECEMBER 15 PM

20TH CENTURY MUSEUM*

OPEN WORKS

The visit will allow visitors to approach selected works through the guidance of voices from various cultures: the public will be able to observe the forms, codes, and meanings of contemporary Italian art and understand how artwork is truly "open," capable of activating ever-new forms of reflection, interpretation, and dialogue, "an active center of a network of inexhaustible relationships" (U. Eco).

9 OCTOBER 17 PM AND 14 DECEMBER 11 AM

MUSEUM OF THE INNOCENTS

A LONG HISTORY OF HOSPITALITY

The tour recounts the evolution of the ancient hospital, specifically designed to care for abandoned children. Inside the Renaissance complex designed by Filippo Brunelleschi, visitors can retrace its seven-hundred-year history through artworks, archival materials, biographies, and testimonies of those who lived there. The history of the Innocenti is reinterpreted and enriched by the personal reflections of the facilitators and visitors, drawing on their own cultures to create a shared and deeply engaging narrative.

OCTOBER 18 AND NOVEMBER 29, 10:00 AM

PRIMO CONTI MUSEUM, Fiesole

MOTHERS, WIVES, WORKERS AND DANCERS

Primo Conti's portraits portray a multifaceted female universe: mothers, wives, workers, dancers. These works open a reflection on the connections between art and contemporary experiences, intertwining stories, traditions, and diverse perspectives on the status of women in marriage, work, and fashion.

19th and 26th October at 11am

FIESOLE AERCHEOLOGICAL AREA

THE SCAPEGOAT

Starting from an analysis of Etruscan sacrificial rites, the conversation with AMIR mediators offers reflections on an important topic, not only because it has roots in the distant past of all human societies, but also because it provides us with valuable insights into contemporary life.

*The November 26th meeting will be an opportunity to explore issues and themes that emerged during previous meetings. It is open to anyone who has already participated in one of the conversations on this topic.

NOVEMBER 2 AND DECEMBER 7 AT 12 PM

PALAZZO VECCHIO MUSEUM*

HISTORY PLOTS: CLOTHES AND CULTURES COMPARED

A journey through the rooms of the Palazzo Vecchio Museum, in an open and stimulating dialogue between fashions, habits, and cultures so different yet so similar. From public rooms to secret places, participants will learn, story by story, about the daily life and fashion of the Medici court, comparing it with the traditions and customs of the AMIR mediators' countries of origin.

*RESERVATIONS: info@musefirenze.it – 055 0541450

November 9th and November 16th. 11

MUSE BANDINI AND ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM OF FIESOLE

THE FORMS OF TIME

Time is a highly complex concept that humans have always grappled with. Artistic representations, philosophical reflections, and scientific definitions continue to engage us, keeping the question open. Through ancient artifacts and works of art from the Fiesole Museums, the tour sheds light on a historical stratification of considerations on the topic, identifying significant convergences between the world's diverse cultures.

*The November 16th meeting will be an opportunity to explore thematic issues that emerged during previous meetings. It is open to anyone who has already participated in one of the conversations on this topic.

For fall 2025, the Fiesole Museums are offering those who participated in the tour a follow-up appointment to discuss the issues raised with the facilitators, ask questions, and develop reflections. The reservation will therefore be valid for both dates.

November 15th, 16pm

MUSEUM OF THE INNOCENTS

THE MOTHER'S JOB

February 1, 1445: Monna Chiara crosses the threshold of the Innocenti. She will be the first wet nurse of whom there is certain record. Here, women have always played a fundamental role in welcoming and caring for children, a commitment the Institute continues to pursue, also through its reception facilities for mothers and children. This unique visit will offer the opportunity to rediscover the centrality of the female role at the Innocenti and compare it with the realities of the AMIR mediators' countries of origin.

23 AND 30 NOVEMBER 11 AM

BANDINI MUSEUM, Fiesole

MARY, WOMAN AMONG WOMEN

A central figure in Christian religiosity, Mary is the most praised woman in the Quran, the only one mentioned by name and defined as a "woman of truth." During the visit, several mediators spoke about this important female figure from different perspectives, describing the many and varied forms of devotion that, transcending spatial and temporal boundaries, bind human beings together.

*The November 30th meeting will be an opportunity to explore issues and themes that emerged during previous meetings. It is open to anyone who has already participated in one of the conversations on this topic.
