(Florence, 1896 – Greve in Chianti, Florence, 1984), a writer and illustrator, began contributing to "L'Italia futurista" at the age of twenty, and in 1917, with Enrico Prampolini, co-founded the international avant-garde art magazine "Noi." That same year, he published his first book, "Vallibella," followed in 1920 by "Pecore pazze." Traveling to Zurich, he met Tristan Tzara, who invited him to write for the magazine "Dada." Alongside his continuing literary work, he also worked as an illustrator, participating in numerous Biennials, Quadrennials, and private exhibitions. Starting in the 1930s, he published many novels, including “L'orto dei simili” (1930), “Giochi da ragazzi” (1933), “Cervo in Maremma” (1942), “Gente in famiglia” (1951), “Le proibizioni” (1954), “La vita in campagna” (1980), “Gli irregulari” (1982), “Via della micia 3” (1985, posthumous). The four volumes of his Diaries are an integral part of his production. He was the director of “Italia che scrive” as well as the founder, together with Andrea Maiuri, of the magazine “Il Veltro”.
The Bino Sanminiatelli Fund is divided into the following sections: Correspondence, characterised by the presence of senders united by their adherence to Futurism such as Balla, Bragaglia, De Pisis, Ginna, Marinetti, Prampolini, Viani and numerous others; Manuscripts which contains a school notebook with the handwritten translation of a German article by Peter Schifferli used by Sanminiatelli for the article “A protagonist recalls the Dadaist “revolution”. Dada is only twenty years old”, in “Il tempo”, Rome, July 14, 1983; Press Clippings, a collection of various articles on the avant-garde, with particular attention to surrealism, dadaism and futurism; Library, a rich collection of first editions by Futurist authors such as Marinetti, Ginanni, Meriano, Corra, D'Alba, Buzzi, Settimelli, Viviani, Russolo, Balla, Chiti and others; Journals which collects various issues, bound by the author, of the avant-garde magazines “Noi”, “Avanscoperta”, “La brigata”, “Le pagine”, “Sic”, “Dada”; Various, which collects the original typographic clichés of Sanminiatelli's works and texts used for the magazine “Noi”, a framed photographic portrait of Marinetti, with an autograph dedication, a bronze by Prampolini portraying Sanminiatelli, datable to 1916-17.
