This Simultaneity of Environments is an exemplary manifesto of Conte's poetics, interpreting the premise of Futurist temporality in an erotic key, anticipating the later Eros, placing the phenomenon of knowledge in an irrational and instantaneous dimension and thus pushing the hypothetical connection with dream life suggested by Futurism much further. Rather than receiving the seed of the universe in her hands, like the mother in Boccioni's Materia, here the prostitute, in an almost esoteric and mediumistic vein, seems to welcome all the forces coming from the street below, which rise toward her as toward a dark deity.
