Quest 'Allegory A truly unique work, it dates to the period when Conti, forced into retirement by illness, discovered color. The atmosphere is reminiscent of Viareggio, between the homes of Plinio Nomellini and Galileo Chini.
In addition to an iconography mediated by the D'Annunzio-like taste of magazines such as "Leonardo", Conti has inserted into the theme a grotesque secessionist, which gives the work its unprejudiced character: exoticism, desecration and freedom of invention in the re-manipulation of the models, which the imagination re-appropriates, even where, as for the black women on the sides, the scene from Bai Tabarin it seems to be observed from life.
