It kicks off SEMI – Synergy, Education, Change, Inclusion, The Municipality of Fiesole's new cultural participation project was created to build an educational community in the area and enhance the skills of individual institutions involved in educating the "citizens of the future," offering children and young people new cultural, creative, and relational experiences.
The goal is to offer free opportunities to meet and interact with others to increase their understanding of the area they live in and their awareness of the presence of a vibrant, welcoming community, encompassing a wide range of services and institutions capable of supporting their growth.
Four activity paths are being outlined in the project:
• History, art, nature: an open construction site – multidisciplinary courses aimed at Fiesole schools (preschool, primary and lower secondary schools);
• FFF – Fiesole Family Format – series of workshops, readings, walks and creative activities in museums, libraries and in the local area;
• Summer Camps – four weeks of summer camps at the Fiesole Museums offering experiences of nature, history and creativity;
• Ciao FRA! – Fiesole, Ragazzi e Ambiente – participatory course aimed at young people aged between 14 and 17 dedicated to the themes of the environment, sustainability and the circular economy.
“SEMI is a project that aims to create a new synergy between the entities whose mission is to play an educational role towards the citizens of the future: the local authority, the scholastic institutions and the cultural and third sector institutions are working together to give the educational process a truly community dimension – explains the Mayor Cristina Scaletti – . In the project's vision, the beneficiaries of educational activities, families with children and young people, are also active participants in the process. For this reason, the municipal administration promotes meetings, spread throughout the area, specifically designed to encourage citizen participation. A vision that views culture as a practice to be built and experienced together.
Three meetings are planned in the Fiesole area:
• Tuesday, March 17 – 6:00 PM | Borgunto – Mino da Fiesole school complex, Via del Pelagaccio 1
• Wednesday, March 18 – 6:00 PM | Caldine – Mugnone Valley Popular Brotherhood Caldine – ODV, Piazza dei Mezzadri 6
• Friday, March 20 – 6:00 PM | Compiobbi – Municipal Library, Piazza Etrusca
